Making Good Decisions

Graphic of Brain Containing Question Mark

You have so many choices in life. It's very exciting! With all those choices, you need to know how to make good decisions for your future. The decisions you make now will point you in the direction of your future.

Don't let your friends make the decision for you. Make decisions for yourself. You have the power to choose how you act, what you do, and what you think. Always examine the advice you are given. Think about it! Learn to make decisions and choices for yourself. You need to decide what is best for you. If you need help, ask your parents or other trusted adults for advice. Think about how your decisions will affect your future. Follow these steps for making good decisions.

Making Good Decisions:

  1. Decide what the real problem is.
  2. Get information.
  3. Make a list of possible decisions and decide which are good ones and bad ones. This is also called a pro and con list.
  4. Make a decision.
  5. Act on your decision.
  6. Think about how your decision affected your life (whether it's positive or negative).
