Keeping A Healthy Body
The goal of this exercise is to understand that drug use effects many
areas of the body and that the effects are progressively damaging and
dangerous.
- Begin this exercise by explaining to your students that four body
systems are impacted by drug use:
- the digestive system
- the nervous system
- the reproductive system
- and the respiratory system
- Assign your students to research the effects of an assigned drug on
all four body systems listed above through the Prevlink web site other
resources listed in the Links section. They should create a list the
negative effects of the assigned on each system, if any. This exercise
can be performed in groups or by individual students.
- Have each student/group present their findings to the class in an
oral report or write a brief paper to submit to you.
