Lending LibraryLibrary books are available for lending to the citizens of NEBRASKA ONLY. The Lending Library now includes over 1,100 items available for loan. We strive to cover the broadest possible range of substance abuse prevention and treatment topics, including related issues such as violence, HIV/AIDS, mental health, and multicultural concerns. Items may be borrowed from the Alcohol and Drug Information Clearinghouse without cost by residents of Nebraska. If you are unfamiliar with our loan policies, please take a moment to read our borrowing guidelines here. We thank you in advance for cooperating with these policies and procedures. By doing so you will ensure that the materials in our library are accessible to as many patrons as possible. Information Clearinghouse Borrowing GuidelinesBooks and videos may be borrowed from the Alcohol and Drug Information Clearinghouse without cost by residents of Nebraska. Borrowing privileges are issued only to individuals. No blanket agreement with agencies is available. Any one wishing to borrow materials must have a current Loan Agreement Form and photocopy of a drivers license or other picture ID on file with the Alcohol and Drug Information Clearinghouse. If you have not filled out the form previously, you will find a link to the form at the bottom of this page. Please read it carefully as it contains important loan policy information. All loans are made for 14 days. One-time renewal of materials is possible, provided that no other patrons are on the waiting list for a particular item. No more than six (6) items may be borrowed at any one time, with a maximum of four (4) videos. Patrons may not reserve materials more than 24 hours in advance. After that time, reserved items will be returned to circulation. Overdue fines are assessed at the following rates:
Borrowing privileges will be suspended for anyone owing overdue fines or restitution for lost materials. Video Use Restrictions It is a violation of Federal and International Copyright Law to duplicate videos unless they are clearly identified as being in the public domain. Additionally, many videos are electronically encrypted by the producers, and any attempt to copy them will destroy the original. The borrower will be charged the full value of the tape should this occur. If you have any questions about whether or not a tape is copyrighted, please do not hesitate to contact the Alcohol and Drug Information Clearinghouse. Borrowers may not, under any circumstance, charge any admission fees to show these videos. The original borrower may not loan Alcohol and Drug Information Clearinghouse materials to other individuals or agencies at any time. Video Care The individual borrowing a video is responsible for its safe return to the Alcohol and Drug Information Clearinghouse. Do not expose the videos to direct sunlight or leave them inside a closed automobile. They are highly sensitive to temperature extremes.
